BGA Marketing’s Managing Director and founder joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1987, working as a sales representative for Glaxo New Zealand. Hamish then moved to Ciba-Geigy New Zealand as Product Manager for CVS/CNS in 1988, over the next 5 years he was responsible for the marketing and launch of a wide range of products across different therapeutic areas including the OTC launches of NICOTINELL-TTS and VOLTAREN EMULGEL, world firsts at the time. In 1992 he was promoted to Ciba’s head office in Basel, Switzerland to become International Product Manager Inflammation and Pain where he reported to a Group Head of Marketing Inflammation (Pain & Asthma) & Bone. While in Basel he was responsible for Ciba’s largest brand VOLTAREN as well as working with R&D on drug developments and on a number of international project teams including the Voltaren Rx-to-OTC switch team.In 1995 Hamish returned to New Zealand to set up BGA, a specialist healthcare communications agency. Since founding BGA, he has worked on a large number of brands producing materials for a wide range of different healthcare professionals, as well as trade and consumers.

Nikki O’Donnell – BBus, Dip Marketing
Nikki joined BGA Marketing in 2007 as an Account Director focusing particularly on consumer healthcare brands. Nikki O’Donnell has worked in marketing since 1996 in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, most recently for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare as Senior Product Manager Pain & Cough-Cold and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Healthcare. Nikki managed Codral, Benadryl, Sudafed, Sinutab, Day & Night, Pamol, Purell and Mylanta.
Nikki was responsible for the development of the direction of the phenylephrine replacement products for the NZ market, communicating the changes to the internal team as well as the wider pharmacy market and getting the products to market. This was a challenging time for the company, brands and industry and resulted in an exciting, and at times complex, operating environment.
Nikki has an excellent understanding of the consumer, and has a wealth of experience in strategic planning and brand direction. Since joining BGA she has taken a leadership role in running BGA’s PHOCUS Pharmacy Advisory Boards.

Daniel Armstrong – BSc Pharmacology
Daniel joined BGA Marketing in 2010 as an account manager. Daniel previously worked at the National Poisons Centre providing medical advice for the management of overdose and poisoning cases. Since joining BGA Daniel has worked on several specialty accounts, developing content based on clinical research and overseeing project management. Daniel has also taken a lead role in developing new technology based content delivery systems.

Tanya Grimstone
Tanya joined BGA Marketing in 2008 as an account manager. Tanya has worked in the pharmaceutical industry since 1994 in a variety of roles at GSK and Pfizer. She is efficient, organised, and offers exceptional client service. She has over 20 years experience in running events ranging from small meetings through to conferences and large company functions, and is able to efficiently manage events of any size.

Jeannie Ferguson – BDes
Jeannie is an experienced senior graphic designer who has been with BGA since 2009. She has worked on a variety of healthcare accounts, and has been responsible for driving new initiatives in creative concepts and delivery. Prior to joining BGA Jeannie freelanced at several large mainstream agencies including Ogilvy.

Grant Schultz
Grant is BGA’s creative director who has worked for Colenso and Lowe Worldwide. He started working with BGA in 2004. Grant has recently been involved in developing creative direction for new campaigns. Grant has strong concept development and copy skills especially in the consumer area. Grant spends 1-2 days at BGA overseeing the creative direction of all current campaigns.
Maxine Clayton
Maxine regularly works with BGA as a freelance creative copywriter / TV director / producer, and has a strong journalistic background. She worked with BGA on the PR campaign for the launch of Viagra, and is particularly skilled in the area of video production from concept and copy development, through to directing and producing.
Marcus Clayton
Marcus is a freelance director/editor and cameraman. He works with BGA on all the companies’ video projects.
